primary elections! AUGUST 11, 2026

What are the Primary Elections? Is it necessary to vote then or wait until the General Elections in November?

Absolutely you should vote in the Primary Elections! The primary election determines which candidates will be on the ballot for the November General Election.

Even though there are several candidates running for each of the different offices in the Primary Election, only ONE Republican and ONE Democrat will advance to the November ballot.

The following Republican Candidates have been endorsed and are being supported and recommended by the Redwood County Republicans:

U.S. SENATOR – Adam Schwarze

GOVERNOR/LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR – Kendall Qualls and Brian Nicholson

MN SECRETARY OF STATE – Tad Jude

MN STATE AUDITOR – Nate George

MN ATTORNEY GENERAL – Ronald Schutz

U.S. REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT 7 – Michelle Fischbach

MN HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE 15B – Geri Theis

MN SENATE DISTRICT 15 – Braxton Seifert (*unapposed so on General Election ballot only)

You may only vote for candidates from one political party. If you vote some Republicans and some Democrats, your ballot is thrown out and will not count.

Absentee voting begins June 26, and early voting begins July 24, or you can vote in person August 11.

How do I vote Absentee or Early Voting? Visit the Minnesota Secretary of State website: https://www.sos.mn.gov/elections-voting/other-ways-to-vote/voting-locations-before-election-day/

Where is my polling place on Election Day? https://pollfinder.sos.mn.gov/

This is your chance to select the candidates you want on the ballot and to join our Redwood County Republicans in supporting the candidates. There are many opportunities to get involved by helping with fundraising, door knocking, phone calling or displaying yard signs.

We would love to have you be a part of the success in electing Republicans across the board in Minnesota!
