Redwood County Republican Convention

After the caucus meetings, the next big event is the Redwood County Republican Convention. This meeting happens within a set timeframe decided by the statewide Minnesota Republican Party (MN GOP).

The delegates and alternates you helped elect at your caucus (they serve for two years) are the ones who attend this county convention.

In Even-Numbered Years (like 2026):

  • We pick more delegates and alternates to go to the District 7 Convention (our larger regional Republican meeting). These people also serve for two years.
  • We also choose delegates and alternates to attend the Minnesota State Republican Convention. They also serve for two years.
  • We vote on the ideas (resolutions) that came from the caucuses. If a resolution passes here, it moves on to the District Convention.

In Odd-Numbered Years (like 2025):

  • We vote on any updates or changes to the Redwood County Republican Party’s own rules (their “constitution”).
  • We elect the leaders for the Redwood County Republican Party, like the county officers, and other important people, all for two-year terms.

Every Year: We also take care of other important party business.
